A Tradition Passed Down Through Four Generations
I learned to stitch from the women in my family. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother all shared a love of sewing and needlework, and I was fortunate to grow up surrounded by creativity.
In a full-circle moment, my very first stitching class was in 1986, when my mother taught a cross-stitch class at my elementary school. She designed her own pattern, let us choose our colors, and together we created a lovely Mother's Day gift. I was instantly hooked.
I later went on to study textiles at university and work professionally as an interior designer, experiences that deepened my appreciation for pattern, color, and the beauty of handmade objects.
Over the past 40 years, I've explored many creative pursuits, including embroidery, cross stitch, ribbon work, beading, sewing, weaving, surface design, and interior textiles. My only epic fail was knitting. My great-grandmother was so disappointed, she sent me to the neighbor to learn crochet instead!
Through it all, needlework has always remained close to my heart. After nearly a decade-long hiatus, I picked up a needle and canvas again and haven't stopped stitching since.
Today, those influences can still be seen in everything I create and teach, from the projects I gravitate toward to the welcoming and thoughtful experience I hope to provide for every student.

As needlepoint has grown in popularity, I've seen more and more people interested in learning, but also feeling overwhelmed by where to begin.
Choosing a canvas, selecting threads, learning stitches, and understanding finishing can feel intimidating when you're new to the hobby. While online resources can be helpful, nothing compares to learning in person, asking questions, and stitching alongside others.
I created Keepsake Stitch Co. to make needlepoint feel approachable, welcoming, and enjoyable for beginners while providing a supportive community for stitchers of all experience levels.

Whether you're picking up a needle for the very first time or returning to a hobby you loved years ago, my classes are designed to be relaxed, encouraging, and beginner-friendly.
My goal is to help you build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the process of creating something beautiful by hand - one stitch at a time.
